The Science Behind Happy Relationships

  1. Gottman Relationship Checkup: A detailed, research-based assessment of over 400 questions. It evaluates key aspects of relationship health, such as friendship, intimacy, conflict management, shared values, trust, and commitment.

  2. Sound Relationship House Model Framework: The assessment examines areas within the Sound Relationship House framework, including:

    • Building love maps.

    • Nurturing fondness and admiration.

    • Turning toward instead of away during the conflict.

    • Managing conflict effectively.

    • Creating shared meaning and goals.

  3. Relationship Dynamics and Patterns: Questions explore patterns of communication, emotional regulation, and problem-solving to identify unhelpful behaviors and areas for growth.

  4. Individual Needs and Stressors: The assessment evaluates stress levels, mental health, and external factors impacting the relationship, providing a comprehensive view of each partner's experiences.

Therapy FAQ

  • Couples Therapy, also known as couples counseling, is a collaborative process between a trained mental health professional (therapist) and a couple seeking support to address barriers to communication, intimacy, and connection. The primary goal of couples therapy is to improve mental well-being, foster growth, and provide tools for coping with life's difficulties.

  • Feeling overwhelmed, experiencing persistent negative emotions, struggling in your relationship, or facing difficulties in daily functioning are indications that therapy may be beneficial.

  • Therapy sessions typically last around 50-75 minutes. Kali will create a safe, non-judgmental environment to encourage open communication. Kali will actively listen to your concerns, ask questions to gain insight, and work collaboratively to identify and address underlying issues.

  • The duration of couples therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some couples may see improvements in a few months, while others might require more extended periods to address deeper issues. Therapy is a gradual process, and progress is influenced by factors such as the complexity of the concerns and the couple's willingness to engage in the therapeutic process.
